Frequently Asked Questions

Open FriendsOf and tap the option to add a new person. You can select someone from your device contacts or enter their information manually. Add the details you want to keep, choose the type of relationship, and save the profile.

Each person can have their own check-in schedule. Choose how often you want to contact them, and FriendsOf will use that schedule together with your contact history to determine when they should appear in your upcoming reminders.

The home screen organizes upcoming check-ins into three views: Today, This Week, and This Month. Open the relevant tab to see who is due for contact during that period.

Open the person’s profile and record a new contact or interaction. This updates their contact history and helps FriendsOf calculate when their next reminder should appear.

FriendsOf can send daily, weekly, or monthly notifications. Daily notifications show who is due that day, while weekly and monthly notifications provide broader summaries. Notifications are only sent when there is someone to contact.

Open Settings and go to the notification options. From there, you can choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly notifications, or disable them completely. You may also need to allow or disable FriendsOf notifications in your device settings.

A contact profile can include the person’s contact details, relationship type, reminder schedule, important dates, notes, and contact history. You can choose how much or how little information you want to add.

Notes give you a private place to remember useful details about someone. You can save recent updates, shared interests, important events, future plans, or anything you want to remember before your next conversation.

Relationship categories help you organize people based on how they fit into your life, such as family, friends, mentors, or professional contacts. Relationship Insights uses this information and your contact activity to help you understand patterns in how you stay connected. It does not score or judge the value of your relationships.

Open the person’s profile and choose an available contact option. FriendsOf can open your device’s phone, messaging, email, or sharing tools. You review and send the communication yourself.

You can create a manual backup whenever you choose or enable automated backups in Settings. Backups help protect your FriendsOf data if you reinstall the app, change devices, or lose locally stored information. Use the restore option to recover data from an available backup.

FriendsOf is designed to work offline, and your relationship information is stored locally on your device during normal use. An internet connection may be required for certain actions, including creating or restoring cloud backups.
